Over the weekend Iran strapped this monkey into a rocket and sent it into space.
They wanted to see if the monkey survived before they tried it out on themselves.
That monkey looks mortified.

Sometimes when I’m on a church stage, I see the exact same look on peoples faces in the crowd.
It’s because many times we take a really bad idea, and instead of doing the work to really find out if it’s gonna succeed or not, we just strap our people into a rocket and see if they survive.

The church deserves better than that.
Let’s do the work and study and stop strapping them to rockets…

Yes. This happened several Sundays ago when our praise team attempted to introduce a gospel-remixed rap song into the praise and worship. AND get the congregation to “rap-along.” They were trying too hard and it was just plain awkward. Love ‘em, though!

Nothing better than doing a bad cover

Very insightful! I can definitely pinpoint many “follow me” moments that didn’t lead to the places that the facilitators anticipated. Every organization should invest time, and resources, into R&D!

Whoever said “prototype, prototype, and prototype again” had it right…

That’s such a great analogy. Thanks for your wisdom and insight, Los

Los – how do you balance this with giving your team the opportunity to try things and make mistakes? I’m afraid too much analysis would cause my team to not take risk.
