I love that he doesn’t side step. He speaks his beliefs. He’s clear, articulate, and keeps Christ in his answers throughout. Well said Pastor Warren.

He doesn’t side step? It took him being pushed and pushed to actually say something about it.

well done, indeed. i’m thinking Pastor Rick meant Robbie George at Princeton, who has written much on this. here’s an excellet abstract. what is marriage. http://papers.ssrn.com/sol3/papers.cfm?abstract_id=1722155

    Not bad!

Totally disagree. There are customs and cultures important to every human and words ARE important. IE SLAVE! If a man wants to be “married” to a man, or a woman to a woman, they have every right to use that word! And Christians telling them they do not, is NOT what Jesus would approve of IMHO. Get over it already.

Speaking of words that are important, this Christmas add Palestinian Christians to your Facebook or Twitter and see what they say about the word “occupied” and “apartheid”. Not to take away from the fair marriage act, but this is genocide!

    Absolutely Agree with him.

A very equal perspective from Rick. I do feel for him… because EVERY interview has focused on this instead of the life giving truth that is in Purpose Driven Life. Thankful though for his wisdom on the national stage.

Way to not actual talk about the issue, Rick. I’m sure you love all the people you discriminate against.

  • Ryan Richardson

Well explained except for the “civil union” comments. It doesn’t matter the word you use everyone knows its the same. That’s like saying “bank” instead of “credit union”… to the consumer, they are the same. Loving someone and condoning what they do are different things… As long as that line is not blurred by popular culture/opinion/trends or anything else you are ok. And just for the record @twitter-15464290:disqus he definitely side stepped until pressured.

Well said, and pleasant non attack interview.

  • Joshua Longbrake

Really disappointing but not surprising. Defensive stances are tiresome and unhelpful from evangelicals. I hoped for more from Warren.
