Yes, I would hug back. Im a hugger. I think this is great and it makes me sad to see people who refuse to even speak to them But that is a normal reaction when we have fear in our hearts, our first reaction is often fear that someone expects something from us, simply because they are offering something to us. Hugs are free!

Probably. But I am a hugger.
Ashley
Absolutely. I’m such a hugger!

YEP! I would hug back. When I was at lifest this year my firends and I noticed a lot of young teenagers wearing free hugs shirts, but not giving out free hugs to anyone… mainly giving out free hugs to teenagers of the opposite sex… So I decided to go request hugs from some of the next ones I saw and I think the girls were shocked and uncomfortable… but hey if you’re going to wear the shirt!

Uuuuuh, that’s weird. Best pick-up strategy I’ve heard of in a while though

Depends if I remembered to wear deodorant that day.

I would. I love hugs, and see them to be very important. Though hugging strange men has gotten me in trouble in the past. One time i gave a homeless man money, he was so stoked he wanted to give me a hug. Well, duh i gave him a hug. I was shocked when he started chasing me down the busy Austin, TX street that he wanted to make babies with me. I think that’s the price of hugging strangers. But everyone needs physical touch, right?
Adrienne
I wouldn’t hug back. I’ve been out of the country and people had free hugs. But I find it a bit cliche. They say human touch can really make a difference in peoples’ lives though. Maybe I’m a bit distrusting of huggers.

I would totally hug back. Hugs are the best.

Totally. “Bring it in.”
Steve
Yes. Without a doubt. And then I’d probably join them.

I abhor physical touch from most people, but I would hug back. just because I hate it, doesn’t mean others don’t. sometimes it’s not about how I feel in a situation, but how others feel… sometimes. ha.

I liked the girl who said, “Uh, get away from me.” Haha.
And yes, I’d hug back. Probably for an awkwardly extended amount of time.

The original “free hugs” video on you tube a few years ago inspired me to offer free hugs and prayers. The man in the video wore a free hugs T shirt. I made signs saying “Free hugs, free prayers” and a friend and I sat near a mission project and waited for people to come –and they did. They came to us and asked for hugs and prayers, one boy about ten came three or four times and then told us that he was being raised by his grandmother but she didn’t hug a lot. For the past three years, I offer hugs to everyone–especially the homeless and goths (God’s choice, not mine) . However, I ask first , I wouldn’t just walk up and hug someone like they did above. I am amazed by how many people want, ask for and need hugs. Some have refused or implied that I’m nuts (guilty–out of my mind for God) and that rejection stings but nothing like our rejection of God wounds Him every day.If I ever meet you, Carlos, I’ll say “Come here, Carlos, let me give you a hug!” and you’ll know which crazy blog follower it is.
