Revival > Religion

Religion wants you to spend your hours planning what Sunday will look like.
Revival wants you to spend your hours DOING what can’t be done on Sundays which is BEING with those who won’t show up on Sunday.
Religion wants you to spend hours building a platform so that you can lead thousands to Jesus.
Revival wants you to spend hours leading one to Jesus.
Religion wants you to research what Cool Church X is doing in hopes you can do it almost as well at your church.
Revival wants you to stop looking for inspiration and start developing some perspiration.
Religion wants you to stuff tons of Bible knowledge in your dome so it spits out your pinhole.
Revival wants you to take the BS out of Bible Study and apply what the Word says not talk about it.
Religion wants you to find healing through a taxing set of hurdles and obstacle courses so you can get right with God and his people.
Revival wants you to find repentance and healing through His kindness and grace.
Religion wants you to feel the weight of your sin and believe you are not capable of ministering to people.
Revival wants you to know the weight of your sin was carried by Jesus to the cross and you can minster out of your brokenness.
Religion brings YOU.
Revival brings CHRIST.

I would change the one about the Word to…Revival can’t get enough of reading, learning, doing, and talking about the Word. I think we learn how to do it better the more we talk and converse about it. I get your point though.

Religion says, “You might offend a tither, let’s not say that”
Revival says, “You might reach someones heart and change their life, say that LOUD”

When you say “religion” what do actually mean?

St. James, in his epistle, speaks of religion in the following manner: “Pure and undefiled religion before God and the Father is this: to visit orphans and widows in their trouble, and to keep oneself unspotted from the world.”

In light of the above passage, I’m guessing you mean something entirely different by religion.

The word revival means to renew religion. I believe what we should be saying is there is an awaking. To become alive in our identity in Christ . When we wake up to who we are in him then we will automatically start to do what he did. But I agree that the church and our idea of it should change religousness is the leading cause of death to Christians today. I know because I’m a survivor! But revival is not what we need. We need to be woke up to something new…. I new identity in the body of Christ a body that can pull down from heaven to this earth. So that it can be in earth as it is there. Just a thought.
