My 8 y/o daughter, Natalie, and I just watched this. She counted how many people actually held his hand – just two! Or maybe, from Jesus’ perspective, the two that needed Him the most. Makes me think of the odds from the Parable of the Sower – the one in four chance His Word/Love/Grace sticks in the right soil. I don’t know if the video actually reflects those odds, mathematically speaking, but it is an interesting thought anyways!

Wow, that’s a great observation!

Very interesting. I would’ve been interested to see the comparison if a girl was trying to hold people’s hands as well.
I think a free hug sandwich board or booth would work better.

Oh my gosh, made me laugh out loud and made my day! Loved how a number of people were surprised and “hi”! Great! Thanks for sharing!

what i find interesting is that girl in the ponytail with the sweatshirt- when he goes to hold her hand she holds his back… and the way she says “hi” to him… if you watch her face before it looks like shes had a pretty rough day. and then after hand contact, its like her entire demeanor changes and shes happy.
while this sort of approach is probably not right for the entire body of Christ, i cant help but wonder if we do need at some point utilize every kind of approach so girls like her dont slip through the cracks.

Los…just curious…looking at your title I was wondering if you think that is a good thing or a bad thing that you think this is how the church sometime operates? Would love to hear some context for your thoughts.
