My prom was in my high school gym in small-town Wisconsin. My mom made my dress. I went with my best friend, and I was the one who asked him. We had pizza for dinner at a local restaurant, and then we got ice cream for dessert from Culver’s (where we both worked at the time) I live in Minnesota now, and he lives in Colorado. Aside from an occasional Happy Birthday or Merry Christmas we haven’t spoken in a few years.

My prom was in a hotel ballroom near our high school. My date was a high school boy I was dating from our youth group. Where is my date right now? He’s out in the back yard mowing the grass! We’ve been together 20 years, married for 13!

My first prom was with a guy I was dating at the time. It was at a very beautiful ballroom near our high school. My date that year is now a park ranger.

My second prom was with a good friend in downtown Indianapolis. He recently moved away from the school so it was a neat way for him to come back and see everybody. He now works at Disney World as a ride operater.

My prom was in Thomasville, Georgia, a small town in south Georgia near the Florida line. My date was David Jackson and he still lives in Thomasville, while I now live in Augusta, GA. The funny thing is, your blog post link (with the prom question) came through my news feed on FB just three posts below a post that he put on his page with a photo. It’s such a small world … and I’m always amazed how many things that share commonalities touch in my world.

It was at some hotel in downtown Phoenix. My date was a girl I worked with at Togo’s, and knew I had asked someone else and got turned down. It was our first date. We’ve been married for almost 6 years now. Turned out to be the best plan B ever.

In our high school cafeteria (it was twice as large as the gym)… date was a girl from youth group who is now actually married to be best friend from high school. She was my date and we doubled with him and someone else.

I went to my prom with my ex boyfriend & his new girlfriend. Talk about awkward! We had made plans to go, then broke up, & he convinced me we could still be friends & go.

It was not a fun night for me.

He & the girlfriend are now married so i guess it went well for them!

Senior and Junior prom were in our local civic center in the city of my high school. My junior prom date is now married, living in Texas with her husband who is in the military and my senior prom date, who I am still very good friends with still lives locally, is very recently married, and sings with me on my worship team.

Prom (both Jr and Sr) were at Saddlebrook Golf and Country Club just outside Tampa. Date for both was a chick I dated for 5 years named Jodi. She’s divorced, living in Florida. I’m married to the girl of my dreams for 11 years now, who I was friends with at the time and if I had the stones to break up with Jodi sooner like I knew I should have, I’d have been with her at both those proms.

My “prom” (actually, it was a banquet because I went to a Christian school that didn’t encourage dancing…) was in a big ballroom on the Air Force Base in Charleston, SC. I went with my good friend Jason, and we are still friends today, 9 years later! He’s happily married and teaching at a high school.

My junior prom was at Convention Hall in my hometown. My date was a BLIND DATE SET UP FOR ME BY MY ALGEBRA TEACHER!!! The guy was his brother-in-law…geez, how pathetic! I was so embarrassed, I treated the guy like poo and I’ve never seen or heard from him again. My teacher wrote an apology in my senior yearbook. Hilarious!!!

I went to prom three years in Sheldon, Iowa w/ Amy Eitemiller. She now lives in Sioux Falls, SD in the same house as me! We’ve been married 20 years and somehow she still hasn’t figured out that she’s way, way out of my league (even though I tell her all the time).

My prom was at a hotel banquet hall in a town called owego new York that where my school (vestal) held the prom. I went with Sean my husband of 17 years.Funny to think back to that time and think God was working even then in my life.

My prom was at a fancy as heck golf course/resorty thing in Wisconsin. My date was named Chris and it was our first date. We got married last summer. I’m now a high school teacher and this year’s prom coordinator.

I went to both my Jr./Sr. proms with the same guy. He was a friend who I knew I’d be able to have fun with. That was great choice too…no worries about did he like me or anything like that…just hung out and had a blast! Both proms were held in the ballroom in a hotel in downtown Mobile, AL.
Unfortunately, he was killed by a drunk driver a few years ago while riding his motorcycle.

Skipped both of “my” proms, but the year after I graduated went to the Senior Prom with my cousin, whose date had ditched him for what she thought was a better offer that day. It was awkward. Still friends with my cousin, with whom I recently reconnected when I moved away from our hometown to the big city. He and his wife invited my husband and I to their church, which is now our church. And he and his wife recently moved away.

I never went to prom… I can’t remember why. I wasn’t really allowed to go to school dances and I had decided at the last minute to cram in an extra class to graduate a year early. My junior prom was held in the ball room of a local hotel in Greensboro, NC. The band was a “beach music” band called the Catalinas, and my date was Karen Hollifield, who went on to become an opera singer in Austria before marrying and raising a family in Texas. It was awesome! My senior prom was the same place, different band and my date was Emily Smith, who was just a friend.

Mine was in Las Vegas! I went to one school, my girlfriend at the time went to another. Her’s was the Academy for the Performing Arts. So of course, their prom was in Liberace’s house. I am not kidding. It was this huge mansion, and we took pictures in his bathroom, which had a chandelier over the tub. There were kids in drag, and an Elvis imitator. We both were actually sick, but made the most of the night.
My date was a girl named Tara. We met through YoungLife, and were both really into theater. She was a year younger than me, and some of my friends couldn’t believe I was going out with her. She was so gorgeous.
Now, she is married and living very happily in Vegas. We are facebook friends still, and regularly catch up and encourage each other.

My date for prom in 1988 was a girl who asked me to her prom after we met roller skating. We almost got kicked out of the school gym for kidding while dancing. She asked me to the prom but I asked her to be my wife. 22 years of marriage and we still kiss while slow dancing. Our kids try to kick us out of the living room. Somethings just don’t change

I’m homeschooled, so it’s not a big deal. I’ve never dated and don’t plan on starting to go to an over-priced dance.

Went to 3 proms with the same date. My Junior & Senior year and her Senior Year. (1983, 84 & 85) Each one was at a local hotel ballroom. We married after college and have now been married 24 years.

You know both of my prom dates. In 10th grade I got to go to prom with John Gunter. It was at the Westin P’tree Plaza. He’s now a missionary in China.
Both Jr & Sr year I went with Woody Jones. One year it was at Colony Square, not sure about the other. He’s still living in the Atlanta area and as you know is married to Lori!

My date was a bottle of vodka and tequila that I drank while hiding in my trunk. Then I climbed into the prom location (a rental space called dupree’s) through a window because school administrators were standing at the doors with cops armed with breathalyzers. My “date” now- staying far away from me as I celebrate one year sober on may 31st.

Prom was terrible. I took a sophomore boy because he was nice. I went with the cool kids, though I was a huge nerd. My dress and fake tan made me look like a cross between a compressed Cinderella and an oompa loompa. I insisted on the biggest skirt ever, so my date had to help squish it into the limo. We had it at the worthington, a fancy hotel in ft worth. My date now goes to a private Christian school, hopes to be president someday, got all over the news for calling himself a “cracker” during student elections, and rides every summer for adults with disabilities. He’s still a nice guy, with a good heart. I don’t think I would change the fact I took a nice guy without the typical date pressures.

My sophomore year, I went with two different friends to two different proms. One I’ve more or less stayed in touch with–His younger sister has become one of my best friends. The other is still in Oklahoma, and attending the church we grew up in.

Junior year, I went with a guy I was dating from a different school. So we went to both of ours. He’s up North somewhere. We keep in touch via FB occasionally, and he came to my wedding.

My senior year, I took a friend from a different school. It was held in one of the rooms of our city’s Agriplex. I think he is still in Oklahoma, but I haven’t talked to him since he did the sound for my wedding 3.5 years ago.

Hmmm, only went to 9th grade “prom” with a group of friends. A mean boy said, “Are you wearing your Sunday school dress?” Oh, ouch. For the next three years, cried and agonized over not having a prom date. Wish I had known that at age 18 as a freshman in college, I would meet my future husband and the fact that I never went to high school prom would mean absolutely nothing to me!
