3 Hours Left.
If we had just 3 hours left to watch one movie.
After those 3 hours we would never be able to watch another movie again.
Ever.

What movie would you beg us to see?
What is the one movie that you would tell the world is not to be missed?

    Easy. Field of Dreams.

  • http://myblogequalslame.wordpress.com Clayton

    Left Behind?
    Extreme Days?
    Courageous?
    Left Behind 2?
    Snow Buddies?

    • http://marshallheppner.com Marshall

Huh!? I refuse to take that seriously…

      • http://www.calebgordon.com Caleb Gordon

        hhahahaaaaahhaaaa!!

  • billy

i’d chance it on the dark knight rises.

    • Mitch

Good call Billy…I am hoping we are not disappointed.

      • Elyery

I wonder if you two were disappointed or not?

  • http://craigheitzenrater.com Craig

    Braveheart

    • http://www.calebgordon.com Caleb Gordon

      #BOOM!

  • John

Passion of the Christ. Not because it’s the obvious answer, nor is it my favorite movie ever, but because at the end of the day it’s the first and last story I’ll ever want to stay in my mind.

    • http://www.zazzle.com/palmerphotography Michelle

“…the first and last story I’ll ever want to stay in my mind…” Love that.

  • Tomos

If it was just me then Stand By Me.

If it was the Family then Tangled!

    • Matthew w

Mmmm. Tangled is a good one!

  • http://www.churchwherever.com Chris Walker

Difficult one. Most of the movies I want to pick require watching the trilogy but would be way over 3 hours. So my odd choice for a single movie would be….
    Rad
1986 BMX Awesomeness!!!! I think that everyone should watch this at least once.
“Get ready to break the ice….”

    • http://nextstopnineveh.wordpress.com Virgil

Aunt Becky in a leather catsuit. On a bike. Case closed. You win!

  • http://mybeautifulcollisions.blogspot.com/ Jay B

The greatest movie ever made that none of you have ever seen: Army of Darkness
    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UD_82kvQLkA

  • Art

    Stealing Home

From IMDB: “Mark Harmon is a washed-up baseball player who is called back home to handle the ashes of his childhood sweetheart/ first love who had committed suicide. As he searches for what to do with them, he remembers the past and the relationship they had. In doing so he finds himself again.”

    http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0096171/plotsummary

  • Matthew w

Either Shawshank Redemption or The King’s Speech.

  • http://dianalovestowrite.blogspot.com Diana

Chronicles of Narnia 2: Prince Caspian. Single most convicting, heart-wrenching line ever is in that movie! LOVE it! What about YOU Carlos? What’s your choice?

I like the answer above about The Passion of the Christ. The reason is PERFECT… but I still pick Prince Caspian.

    • Shane

      What’s the line?

  • Ashley

    Book of Eli

    • http://marshallheppner.com Marshall

      Fantastic movie

    • http://jcisonline.com/ J.C. Thompson

That’s my pick too. Great movie!!

  • http://vonderhaus.blogspot.com wendy

Well, you want something you can quote for the rest of your life, right? So…well, lately I’ve been modifying Vector’s “Curse you, tiny toilet!” to meet my needs [Despicable Me], but that can only go so far… So I’m going to have to say Elf. There’s a lot of good lines in that one, even if you just walk around saying, “franCISco…”

  • http://www.elgincombs.com Elgin

Well, Inception rocked my mind, so that’s an option. If not that one, I’d say – Indiana Jones and The Raiders of The Lost Ark.

  • http://thecormierfamily.org/ Jason

Does it need to be three hours long? If not The Crow. If it needs to hot closer to that 3 hour mark, all time fav number 2…Legend of the Fall

    • http://www.loveparenting.org Sam

The Crow would be up there in my top choices. Love that film. If not, the last half of Return of the king (lord of the rings)!

  • http://btheyouthguy.wordpress.com BtheYouthGuy

For me it would be either Inception, Tron Legacy, or Hitch Hiker’s Guide to the Galaxy. Real Steel would be another close one. (Best father/son movie ever in my opinion,)

Although i should be Primer. I still can’t figure out the timeline due to all the time-traveling back and forth. I might need to watch it a few dozen more times before I actually know what’s going on.

  • http://dubdynomite.com dubdynomite

    The Princess Bride.

A timeless classic, and my favorite movie of all time.

    • Joel

      Best Choice Ever.

      Best Movie Ever.

    • http://joysmymiddlename.blogspot.com/ Rebecca

      agreed!

    • Mike

“I don’t think that means what you think that means.”

    • Kim S.

Totally agree. That was my first choice.

      • http://nextstopnineveh.wordpress.com Virgil

        “anybody want a peanut?”

        • http://www.zazzle.com/palmerphotography Michelle

If I knew how to make those little hearts appear, then this is where I would put them.

  • Jennifer

    Secondhand Lions!

    • Mike

That is a good one my 10 year old son and I watched it together.

  • http://www.ardentspark.com Travis Williams

    Braveheart.

  • http://insearchofamorebeautifulquestion.tumblr.com Derek

What Dreams May Come. I don’t personally believe in reincarnation, but I think it’s one of the greatest stories told about the persistance of love in the past 20 years.

  • B.Rad

    “Good Will Hunting”

  • Brittany

    Hercules. The Disney version

  • Terrin

Forrest Gump. I could watch that movie every day for the rest of my life.

    • Ann Gardner

      Me too!

  • http://www.rememberingthesmallstuff.com Lisa

    The Count of Monte Cristo

  • Stephanie

@Jay – Army of Darkness was the movie my husband & I saw on our 1st date!

As for me, I’d probably pick 1 of these:
    - Star Wars (because I grew up on it & it’s a classic “good triumphs over evil” movie, plus includes a princess that shoots stormtroopers)
    - Rudy
    - last in the trilogy of The Lord of the Rings
    - any of the Harry Potter movies
    - Passion of the Christ

    • http://mybeautifulcollisions.blogspot.com/ Jay B

You guys were destined for great things after that!

  • http://www.mustardseedyear.com Jason

    My first reaction was “Inception.”

  • http://mrclm.blogspot.com Chris Meirose

    Green Mile.

  • http://twitter.com/JasonSalamun Jason Salamun

    Dumb & Dumber. Hands down.

  • Eric B

Caddyshack or Stripes. Going down with a smile on my face!

  • Matt

I can’t believe only 1 other person said Good Will Hunting. My opinion of the readers of this blog took a hit tonight.

  • http://mrclm.blogspot.com Chris Meirose

My second choice would be “Up”.

  • Katie

    Taken.
I definitely found spiritual significance in that movie….plus watching Liam Neeson go crazy on bad guys is just incredible

    • http://nextstopnineveh.wordpress.com Virgil

I’m pretty sure we’re all headed for a Liam Neeson/Denzel Washington showdown for total world domination.

  • HB

Toss up between V for Vendetta, Amazing Grace, or Toy Story 3

  • Brett

    Speed. It’s the obvious choice.

  • Ann Gardner

Forest Gump. He loves everyone unconditionally and does the right thing always.

  • http://marshallheppner.com Marshall

    Usual Suspects
    Count of Monte Cristo
The Rock (guilty pleasure Nick Cage flick)
    or
    Big Fish

    • cyndie

      It’s a Wonderful Life.

    • Dave ©

I’m not usually a “they ruined the book” kind of guy but in the case of The Count of Monte Cristo…they completely ruined the book. I mean, they changed the entire point! It is no longer the anti-Les Miserables!!!

Speaking of which, Les Mis would be my choice.

  • James

    Mean girls.

    • http://www.zazzle.com/palmerphotography Michelle

      Hahhahahahaa.

  • yankeegospelgirl

    Chariots of Fire.

    There is no other.

  • yankeegospelgirl

And boy after reading some of these other options… honestly they look ridiculous next to that one. :D

  • Jeff

    The Passion

  • Jason

I’m so disappointed right now. Great answers, and Princess Bride would be a worth choice as well, but the only real choices should be either Nacho Libre or Napoleon Dynamite. I quote lines from both movies every single day. Life lessons.

  • Mike

    Raising Arizona
    So many life lessons.
    lol

    • http://www.betterisonedayinyourcourts.wordpress.com Shayne

“Donchoo come back here without me a baby Hi. They got more’n they kin handle.”

  • http://poiema3.wordpress.com/ Dena G

The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring.
Or The Princess Bride. Or Sommersby. Or…it would take me awhile to choose just one!

  • http://littlehoffman.blogspot.com tymm

    Billy Madison. Twice.

  • Sarah

I would probably have to go with RENT!

“How do you measure a year in the life… measure in love”

  • http://www.betterisonedayinyourcourts.wordpress.com Shayne

    Cool Hand Luke.

  • http://joniruhs.wordpress.com Joni Ruhs

Shawshank Redemption was the first thought. Hate to overthink it.

  • Mark

THE BLUES BROTHERS….The greatest movie on responding to Gods calling for your life.

  • Toby

Lars and the Real Girl – a true picture of how the church should deal with mental illness and create community.

    • Mark Elliott

What a great movie. I so agree about the picture of community. I have often thought about showing this for a movie night at our church. Just haven’t quite figured out the promo angle: “join us tonight in the sanctuary for a touching film about a guy and his sex doll”

  • http://anneroyster.blogspot.com Anne

Inception or the Matrix. I’d let you pick. Unless there were kids with us. Then I’d say Disney’s Beauty and the Beast.

    • http://www.bradhuebert.com Brad Huebert

Yes! The first Matrix was epic.

  • http://derek.deniston@gmail.com Derek

The new movie “warrior” shot into my favorite movie of all time this year… if you haven’t seen it go right now and buy it!

    • http://nextstopnineveh.wordpress.com Virgil

      WORD!

  • Ren

The Shawshank Redemption hands down! But since I’m a good multitasker, I would also watch Forrest Gump, the Wizard of Oz, Lord of the Rings: Fellowship of the Ring, and Dude Where’s my Car all at the same time! I know, I know…that last choice is definitely suspect… Shibby!!!! lol…

  • Jacob Buchholz

Close tie between The Two Towers and The Return of the King, but I’d have to go with The Two Towers

  • MJT

    August Rush..

  • Shane

Cool Runnings, even when the world has told you have lost, finish like you’ve just won Gold.

  • francine

    the house bunny!

  • http://www.calebgordon.com Caleb Gordon

    Ferris Bueller’s day off.

  • http://ferrero51.wordpress.com Alex

    Gladiator.

And it would fill your 3 hours.

And it would be a fulfilling 3 hours.

    • http://www.visado.com.au Adrian Jackson

I thought for a little while there I’d never find somebody saying Gladiator. Definitely the movie I’d want to see again. Although I do like my Bourne trilogy (but I can’t fit that in three hours).

  • eric

    home movies

… or Dan in Real Life

    • http://nextstopnineveh.wordpress.com Virgil

      Home movies. Yes. Good call.

  • Griffin

    It Might Get Loud.

    the Edge is a beast.

  • http://www.rychus-ruckus.blogspot.com Billy Starkweather

    GOONIES!!!

That is a classic that you can go a lifetime after watching and still smile everytime a thought of it comes to mind.

  • Doug

    Braveheart.

  • http://www.brianhaleyeah.com brianhaleyeah

The adult movie: Dan in Real Life

    The Family movie: Finding Nemo

  • Mike

I would choose “Oh Brother Where Art Thou”
    “I’m with you fellas”
“You’re as dumb as a sack full of hammers”

  • http://frankviola.org Frank Viola

    Seven Pounds or Gran Torino.

Both great metaphors for service, sacrifice, laying down one’s life for others, and mission.

  • ida

Gone with the Wind. But it might not make your 3 hour limit.

  • http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=212800820 Brian O’Dowd

    Most Definitely: Forrest Gump.
